Sega is celebrating its 60th birthday by spreading joy in the form of 4 free games.
Nights Into Dreams:
First off, you can soar the skies in the Sega Saturn Classic Nights into Dreams. Available to you FOR FREE once you sign up on Sega’s site right here.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2:
Next on the list is the wonderful classic Sonic the hedgehog 2, originally released in 1992. Join your favorite hedgehog along with his pal Tails in this ring catching adventure by grabbing your free copy on steam right now.
Yakuza inspired brawler, Streets of kamurocho:
Next up on the list is a mini-game called Streets of Kamurocho. Inspired by brawler games like Streets of Rage, and paying homage to the Yakuza series (also known as ryu ga gotoku in Japan). Streets of Kamurocho will have you mowing down thousands of thugs.
Playing as the Yakuza series’ typical protagonists Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. Set in the titular district of Kamurocho that fans of the series have grown to be so fond of. If you want to read more about the Yakuza, check out our preview of the latest installment that will be released next month, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Streets of Kamurocho will be available to download on the 17th of October — but beware, you’ve only got till the 19th to claim it.
Golden Axed
Apparently, Sega Studios Australia was working on a series of reboots of a few classical Sega games. Known collectively as the Sega Reborn series — they included 2.5D reboots of some of our favorite childhood games such as Golden Axe, Altered Beast, and Streets of Rage. Unfortunately, Sega Studios Australia closed down before the series saw the light of day.
As a treat, Sega contacted them and dusted off a demo of the reboot of Golden Axe. Which they are giving away for free on the 18th. It will be available for a day only.
Sega is also offering tons of discounts on their franchises such as Yakuza, Persona and Total War, through Steam. Make sure to check them out.
Make sure to Follow us on Instagram @ichiplayer as we’ll keep you updated there as soon as Streets of Kamurocho and Golden Axed are available.
If you’ve played any of these games already, tell us what you thought about them in the comments below.
