In a shockingly unprecedented manner, Sony has pulled the digital copy of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation store. What this means is that you can no longer buy CD Projekt Red’s Latest digitally on the PS4/PS5.

Regardless of their motivations, this is ultimately a good decision from Sony. It could be debated that the only reason why they took this controversial decision is the enormous amount of players that are asking for refunds.
However, that doesn’t make it any less of an advantage for the consumers. Sony essentially backed CD Projekt Red into a corner. We can’t even begin to comprehend the type of stress they must be feeling right now at their offices, scurrying around trying to fix the game for the PS4 as soon as possible.
Sony’s refund policy is extremely strict. Clicking the download button for a game you bought digitally would automatically make you ineligible for a refund. This even applies to preloading in the case of pre-orders. So it must’ve been difficult for them to receive this many refund requests while not being able to study them on a case-by-case basis.
We’ll have to wait and see. Cyberpunk 2077 set to receive a second major patch by February
We hope that by February, we could all be experiencing Cyberpunk 2077 the way it was meant to be experienced. In all honesty, despite all of its pros, it’s been frustrating and annoying to go through all of the bugs and crashes that constantly sour our time in Night City.
